EASY STEPS ON HOW TO MANAGE YOUR LOCAL AREA CONNECTION

To start configuring a router, its advisable to change you Local Area Connection IP setting to "Obtain an IP address automatically". Here's how to do it:

Step 1 : Click the Start Button on your taskbar, and then click Control Panel. Double click on the Network Connections icon, or right click on "My Network Places" icon on your desktop, and then click Properties.

Step 2 : On the Network Connections window, right click on your Local Area Connection icon, and then click properties again. Please place a check on the "Show icon in notification area when connected" and "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity" check boxes.

Step 3 : Under the Local Area Connection Properties, select the Internet Protocol(TCP/IP), and then click properties again.

Step 4 : On your Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties, select the "Obtain an IP address automatically", and "Obtain DNS server address automatically", and click OK


Now after we apply these steps, we now go on to step by step on how to configure the Encore ENHWI-G2 Router on a SMARTBRO Dynamic IP connection (DHCP Tpe of Connection):


Step by Step procedures on how configure the Encore ENHWI-G2 Router on a SmartBRO Connection:
Note: You need to copy first your Physical Address of your local network. just go to control panelnetwork connections then right click local network then click properties and click details. 

*Open an internet browser it could be your windows default (Internet Explorer), Mozilla Firefox,Opera,Netscape Navigator,Maxton,or Safari for windows. On the browser’s URL or Address bar, type the default IP address of the router which is192.168.1.1, and then press the “enter key”. A login dialog box will appear asking for a Username and Password. The default Username is “admin” and the default Password is admin (New Models of ENHWI-G2, or 1234 on Old Models of ENHWI-G2). Click OK to log-in.

*Click on “Setup Wizard” and then click next to proceed

*Select the “Gateway” mode; and then click next to proceed

*Never change the setting to Bridge or to Wireless ISP if you don’t know what you are doing, this will affect your connection stability (or you might have difficulty connecting to your ISP)!

*Change the time zone;

*Click next to proceed
(Note: If possible, never change the IP address of the router)

*Select the “DHCP Client”; Click next to proceed

*Select this WAN Access Type if you’re certain that your connection type is “Dynamic IP”.

*Click next to proceed

*Click finished proceeding with setup procedure. Wait for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize a connection with the SmartBRO’s Wireless Transceiver.
(Note: you can choose whatever type of Encryption you want to use. You can fill any word (letters and Numbers) that you want with this field, Just Remember the word you filled in this field, because this will serve as the password for your wireless connection).
After the router has restarted, reopen again the Web User Interface by typing in again the Router’s Default IP address and fill-in the username and password. On the Right Pane of the page, click on the TCP/IP Settings and click on the LAN Interface. Place a check on the “Enable UPnP” field and click the “Apply Changes” button and wait again for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize. A balloon pop-up’s showing that you’re Local Area Connection is now connected.

*Next click on the WAN Interface, type-in your Physical address/MAC Address and make sure to check all the check boxes and then click “Apply Changes” button and wait again for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize. By doing this procedure you can bypass the login procedure of you smartbro’s redirection page।

*Now click on the Management and click on “Status”, to check if your WAN Configuration has an IP address and that you are already connected to the internet.
